I decided to be a tourist in my own city today! Bryant and I decided to live the fabulous life for a night by hitting up the trendy meat-packing district. We stayed at the Hotel Gansevoort , where we got a luxurious room with a big cloud bed and views of the water. After throwing down our bags, we went to the rooftop bar for a martini and to check out the scene. At 7 pm, it wasnít happening yet (things tend to pick up after midnight), so we went down the street to the exotic Buddakan http:// restaurant where my friend Dave works. He seated us in the Library Room and had champagne waiting for us. After a yummy dinner, we went to Lotus, a hip club where we didnít have to wait in line because my friend Kevin from Syracuse is a manager there. Thank God for having friends in high, um, hip places!
The best part of the night, though, was heading back to the room early to sip champagne, stare out our window at the city lights, and stay up late talking. Living the fabulous life may seem, well, fabulous, but I could see how it could get lonely fast if you donít have anyone to share it with.
