Watch Me Turn 30, by Holly C.
I'm a 29-year-old New Yorker who inherited this site from my pal, Holly P., to document the final year of my twenties. Right up until I turn the big 3-0 next January, I'll use this blog to indulge my inner-narcissist by voicing the good (I can date men anywhere from ages 21 to 50 without it being scandalous) the bad (I keep getting ma'amed) and the ugly (is it possible to get cellulite on your stomach?!). Here's to waving goodbye to my youth, accepting adulthood and remembering that every ending is really just a new beginning.

DAY 227  |  September 13, 2007
Yesterdayís trip to the costume store was unsuccessfulóI refuse to pay $100 for a costume that hardly has any fabric and barely covers my ass, thank you very much! So I hightailed it to Chinatown today, thinking I could find a cool kimono and go as a geisha (yes, I know thatís Japanese but they sell everything in Chinatown!).

I had the most perfect gold, Asian-style dress from Vietnam back at my momís house in Upstate, but I didnít think to ask her to ship it and now time is running out. As I shifted through the racks of dresses, everything was super-expensive and nothing fit quite right (My Vietnam dress was tailor-made just for me). As in my typical shopping style, I spent hours and hours examining at the fabrics and scarves and earrings and shoes, then went home completely empty-handed. I mean, I didnít want to buy something if I didnít absolutely love it, so Iím going to get creative and put together my own costume from stuff I have at home. Even if I donít love it, at least it I didnít waste a lot of cash.
