Watch Me Turn 30, by Holly C.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I'm a 29-year-old New Yorker who inherited this site from my pal, Holly P., to document the final year of my twenties. Right up until I turn the big 3-0 next January, I'll use this blog to indulge my inner-narcissist by voicing the good (I can date men anywhere from ages 21 to 50 without it being scandalous) the bad (I keep getting ma'amed) and the ugly (is it possible to get cellulite on your stomach?!). Here's to waving goodbye to my youth, accepting adulthood and remembering that every ending is really just a new beginning.

DAY 188  |  August 5, 2007
Letter to my younger self: When you break up with a man whom you dated for over four years, donít try to be friends with him too soon. No matter how many times he calls you or asks to see you, do not do it. Though you think youíre over it, two months post-break up is not enough time to recover.

Because at the end of a night out with him to "catch up," you wonít let him walk you home. Youíll strut away as if you could care less, and then youíll cry as soon as youíre out of his sight. Know that going your own way is the right thing to do and that this pain is only temporary. But for the moment, itíll hurt.
