Watch Me Turn 30, by Holly C.
I'm a 29-year-old New Yorker who inherited this site from my pal, Holly P., to document the final year of my twenties. Right up until I turn the big 3-0 next January, I'll use this blog to indulge my inner-narcissist by voicing the good (I can date men anywhere from ages 21 to 50 without it being scandalous) the bad (I keep getting ma'amed) and the ugly (is it possible to get cellulite on your stomach?!). Here's to waving goodbye to my youth, accepting adulthood and remembering that every ending is really just a new beginning.

DAY 170  |  July 18, 2007
Do you ever have those moments when your senses become hyper-aware? When time seems to slow just a little, colors become brighter and noises become magnified? And Iím not talking about when youíre on drugs here, people!

This happens to me sometimesóusually when Iím stressed. But I wasnít stressed today when I walked down 41st and Lexington on my way to a PR event. I simply felt a bit on edge as I watched people milling about and taxis speeding through yellow lights.

My blog for today was going to ask for your theories on why this happens. But just a few hours later, Iím thinking it might be premonition: I walked out of my office to see smoke spewing up to the sky on the very spot where Iíd been walking. Like all the other New Yorkers who stopped to stare in confusion, I worried it was a terrorist bombing, but the news says a transformer exploded.

I donít believe in ESPómaybe itís just a weird coincidence. But I want to believe in the power of prayer, so Iím praying that the 16-plus people who went to the hospital are okay.
