Watch Me Turn 30, by Holly C.
I'm a 29-year-old New Yorker who inherited this site from my pal, Holly P., to document the final year of my twenties. Right up until I turn the big 3-0 next January, I'll use this blog to indulge my inner-narcissist by voicing the good (I can date men anywhere from ages 21 to 50 without it being scandalous) the bad (I keep getting ma'amed) and the ugly (is it possible to get cellulite on your stomach?!). Here's to waving goodbye to my youth, accepting adulthood and remembering that every ending is really just a new beginning.

DAY 145  |  June 23, 2007
I spent my Saturday interviewing potential roommates who I found from posting an ad on With the high price of housing in New York City, I have no choice but to find someone to sublet and help me split the hefty rent.

Iíve never lived with a stranger before, only my college friends and then E. The whole process of finding a roommate is unnerving. A thirty-minute conversation is basically all you have to gauge if you think you could live under the same roof as this person. Talk about pressure! But Iím tired of living in limbo and am ready to get on with my life. Hopefully Iíll find someone cool and that will be one chapter thatís settled.

Since Iím scrounging for cash, I went to sell some of my clothes to a local thrift store after the interviews. You know how much I got for bringing in three big bags of stuff? A measly $8.40. I hope this isnít some kind of omen about how things will go with my future roommate.
