Watch Me Turn 30, by Holly C.
I'm a 29-year-old New Yorker who inherited this site from my pal, Holly P., to document the final year of my twenties. Right up until I turn the big 3-0 next January, I'll use this blog to indulge my inner-narcissist by voicing the good (I can date men anywhere from ages 21 to 50 without it being scandalous) the bad (I keep getting ma'amed) and the ugly (is it possible to get cellulite on your stomach?!). Here's to waving goodbye to my youth, accepting adulthood and remembering that every ending is really just a new beginning.

DAY 124  |  June 2, 2007
I have a "normal" life again! E and I woke up and went to brunch, then spent the day sorting through my boxes at our apartment. I havenít told many of my friends that Iím home yet because I needed a few days to get over my jetlag and process everything thatís happened to me. But Eís friend was having a birthday party at a tapas bar in Brooklyn, and I figured now was as good a time as any to mingle and try to readjust to city life.

Everyone was asking me how my trip was (how do you sum up an entire year?) and I got struck by the feeling that nothing at all has changed. So much has happened to me during my travels, but back in New York life moves on as usual: Friends go to work, have happy hours, work out at the gymÖ I donít know if I expected things to be different, but I feel a little out of sync being back in my old world. Iím sure getting over my culture shock, just like anything, will take a bit of time.
