Watch Me Turn 30, by Holly C.
I'm a 29-year-old New Yorker who inherited this site from my pal, Holly P., to document the final year of my twenties. Right up until I turn the big 3-0 next January, I'll use this blog to indulge my inner-narcissist by voicing the good (I can date men anywhere from ages 21 to 50 without it being scandalous) the bad (I keep getting ma'amed) and the ugly (is it possible to get cellulite on your stomach?!). Here's to waving goodbye to my youth, accepting adulthood and remembering that every ending is really just a new beginning.

DAY 116  |  May 25, 2007
My sister Katie and I hopped on our bikes yet again to pedal around town, stopping to browse at organic markets and to sun ourselves on the sand. This is Broken Head Beach near Byron Bay where Jack Johnson supposedly has a house.

On the way here, Katie totally bailed in front of a group of junior-high school students. Rather than help her up, they commented on how “sweet” her helmet was. Ah, gotta love prepubescent boys. At least she was wearing a helmet: After her fall she laid on the ground laughing for so long that I had no idea she actually got hurt. When she finally did pull herself together, three dark bruises the size of quarters already marked her leg.

That’s my little sister for you: Always laughing even if it hurts. I love that she reminds me not to take myself (or life!) too seriously.
