Watch Me Turn 30, by Holly C.
I'm a 29-year-old New Yorker who inherited this site from my pal, Holly P., to document the final year of my twenties. Right up until I turn the big 3-0 next January, I'll use this blog to indulge my inner-narcissist by voicing the good (I can date men anywhere from ages 21 to 50 without it being scandalous) the bad (I keep getting ma'amed) and the ugly (is it possible to get cellulite on your stomach?!). Here's to waving goodbye to my youth, accepting adulthood and remembering that every ending is really just a new beginning.

DAY 113  |  May 22, 2007
The girls and I hit the road for the three-hour drive from Mojos surf camp to Byron Bay, which is basically a much bigger surf town. My shoulder and back muscles ached too much to hit the waves again today (hey, Iím an old lady), so we took advantage of the free bikes offered at the YHA where weíre staying to explore this hippie mecca.

Pedaling past yoga studios, naturopathic centers and tarot-card reading stands, we followed our noses straight to the Byron Bay Cookie Factory. After splurging on double-chocolate chunk goodness, it was easy to get lost browsing through vintage clothing shops and found-art galleries. Even though I canít carry many souvenirs back with me, I still enjoyed the thrill of the hunt (Retro pants! Fabric-covered journals! Organic soaps!). Someday soon Iíll have a home to display such treasures, and Iím looking forward to it.
