Watch Me Turn 30, by Holly C.
I'm a 29-year-old New Yorker who inherited this site from my pal, Holly P., to document the final year of my twenties. Right up until I turn the big 3-0 next January, I'll use this blog to indulge my inner-narcissist by voicing the good (I can date men anywhere from ages 21 to 50 without it being scandalous) the bad (I keep getting ma'amed) and the ugly (is it possible to get cellulite on your stomach?!). Here's to waving goodbye to my youth, accepting adulthood and remembering that every ending is really just a new beginning.

DAY 108  |  May 17, 2007
Goodbye, trailer park! Hello, Golden Door Health Retreat Elysia! After visiting the Hunter Valley Information Center, we were invited to stay at this luxurious health retreat for two nights because of our travel website. A place offering delicious healthy food, wellness assessments, a healing spa and a fitness center makes me happier than swimming in a pool of chocolate.

I lived both my days here to the fullest by indulging in the best Swedish massage I’ve ever had (my body was tingling); participating in a nutritious cooking class where I learned to make yummy dahl curry and crushed fruit rice paper roll wraps; taking a belly dancing class where I tied colorful scarves around my waist and shook my booty; meditated on a hill overlooking the valley where tai chi classes take place; and curled up with a good book and lemon grass tea by the fireplace in the lounge. I was living in a bubble of comfort. Being healthy feels so good—if only it were so easy in the real world of deadlines, fast food and traffic jams.
