Watch Me Turn 30, by Holly C.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I'm a 29-year-old New Yorker who inherited this site from my pal, Holly P., to document the final year of my twenties. Right up until I turn the big 3-0 next January, I'll use this blog to indulge my inner-narcissist by voicing the good (I can date men anywhere from ages 21 to 50 without it being scandalous) the bad (I keep getting ma'amed) and the ugly (is it possible to get cellulite on your stomach?!). Here's to waving goodbye to my youth, accepting adulthood and remembering that every ending is really just a new beginning.

DAY 98  |  May 7, 2007
The only continent I havenít yet set foot on is Antarctica. Since I wasnít able to fulfill my dream of traveling to the far-off land during this yearlong trip (the cost of taking a cruise there would have blown our budget), I did the next best thing by observing penguins, seals and cold-water fish up close at Sydneyís aquarium. And I didnít even have to bundle up! Watching the slippery suckers glide gracefully through the water was oddly relaxing. I always wondered why people keep fish as pets (you canít cuddle with them, they donít really do anything and cleaning the tank is a pain), but now I get it. Thereís something meditative about glimpsing into an underwater world.
