Watch Me Turn 30, by Holly C.
I'm a 29-year-old New Yorker who inherited this site from my pal, Holly P., to document the final year of my twenties. Right up until I turn the big 3-0 next January, I'll use this blog to indulge my inner-narcissist by voicing the good (I can date men anywhere from ages 21 to 50 without it being scandalous) the bad (I keep getting ma'amed) and the ugly (is it possible to get cellulite on your stomach?!). Here's to waving goodbye to my youth, accepting adulthood and remembering that every ending is really just a new beginning.

DAY 86  |  April 25, 2007
Can you tell that I have no idea what Im doing here? The announcers heard my American accent and recruited me from the crowd to flip coins for a game called Two Up. Australians play it once a year on Anzac Day. It basically involves waving a bill in the air, finding a partner who is betting the same amount, and gambling on whether the coins will land on heads or tails. If you guess right, you get to keep the other guys money.

It was all fun and games when I started with $5 and ended up with $50. That is, until, my lucky streak ended and I lost it all to a guy standing next to me. He kept getting me drinks to make up for my losses, but liquid courage is not conducive to winning. Well, at least not for me: He ended up working the room and scoring $750.

For a firsthand glimpse at the Anzac madness, check out this link to the You Tube video that Amanda took:
