Watch Me Turn 30, by Holly C.
I'm a 29-year-old New Yorker who inherited this site from my pal, Holly P., to document the final year of my twenties. Right up until I turn the big 3-0 next January, I'll use this blog to indulge my inner-narcissist by voicing the good (I can date men anywhere from ages 21 to 50 without it being scandalous) the bad (I keep getting ma'amed) and the ugly (is it possible to get cellulite on your stomach?!). Here's to waving goodbye to my youth, accepting adulthood and remembering that every ending is really just a new beginning.

DAY 33  |  March 3, 2007
Indonesia may be a muslim nation, but Hindus are in the majority on the island of Bali. Kuta Beach, the area where we (and most tourists) chose to stay, has been the target of bombings in 2002 and October 2005. With blasts occuring in our previous destinations, such as India and Bangkok, I was more than a little nervous to hit the club scene in a country where the U.S. government has issued a travel warning.

I guess there is a fine line between playing it safe and living in fear. So we decided to do what we'd normally do on a Saturday night: Go out and listen to music. We mingled with tourists and locals alike, and danced with the sweaty masses until the early morning hours. Since terrorist threats are more and more common, doing just about anything can be a gamble. But if life is for the living, then I'm going to live it up.
