Watch Me Turn 30, by Holly C.
I'm a 29-year-old New Yorker who inherited this site from my pal, Holly P., to document the final year of my twenties. Right up until I turn the big 3-0 next January, I'll use this blog to indulge my inner-narcissist by voicing the good (I can date men anywhere from ages 21 to 50 without it being scandalous) the bad (I keep getting ma'amed) and the ugly (is it possible to get cellulite on your stomach?!). Here's to waving goodbye to my youth, accepting adulthood and remembering that every ending is really just a new beginning.

DAY 19  |  February 17, 2007
Today I made it to the temple on the top of Mount Popa in Myanmar. Before making the trek, I thought the grueling part would be climbing the 777 stairs required to get there. I was wrong: navigating past the hordes of wild monkeys who made their homes on the hill was the true test. I silently prayed to Buddha himself as I walked barefoot over animal poop (wearing shoes in religious temples is a big no-no), ran from shrieking chimps hanging from the rafters above and watched in horror while a dog ate a dead monkey carcass. I swear to you, this really happened. But tradition has it if you ring this bell three times, the vibrations will spread good karma to those who hear it. Hopefully this offered some protection to the pilgrims on their way up.
